Rhiannon and Alex
Rhiannon and Alex’s South London Pub wedding
When I first met Rhiannon and Alex for a chat about their wedding, I knew I was going to get on with them... they were talking about having curry for their main meal and how they wished they could invite their cats to the wedding! From then to the pre-wedding shoot, we had such a giggle together, that it was no surprise their big day was fun and relaxed from start to finish.
It all started at Wandsworth Town Hall, where the couple had their ceremony in the aptly named Grand Chamber. Emotions were running high, especially after 2 really touching readings, but once the vows were exchanged and Rhiannon and Alex had their first kiss as a married couple, there was a huge round of applause.
The reception was held a few miles away in a private room at Balham Bowls Club. The room was decorated beautifully with sunflowers up and down the tables, honeycomb balls suspended from the ceiling and to top it off, Alex’s mum Denise had hand painted the wedding cake with sunflowers to match - it was such a happy looking room! Everyone soon flowed in and enjoyed a pub quiz hosted by Barry, Alex’s dad, and some tasty food. The speeches were very moving, there wasn’t a dry eye in the house when Rhiannon’s uncle Peter paid a wonderful tribute to her on behalf of her late father. It was also very interesting to find out in the speeches that the couple are both huge Doctor Who nerds, ha ha!
Rhiannon and Alex, your day was an emotional rollercoaster, but what I loved most about it, was how amazing your family and friends are… Mumsi, Barry, Peter, Katie, Sam, Hannah, Jonny, Denise to namecheck a few! Below are a few of my favourite photos from the day, but scroll down further for the full gallery.
