Matt and Joe’s EAST LONDON WEDDING

Matt and Joe had their East London wedding on 22nd September. The day started off at an amazing loft apartment in Clapton where the boys, their families and their groomsmen all managed to be getting ready together, with plenty of space! Walking into the apartment, I was met by a massive gang of lads laughing, playing pool, drinking beer and putting the finishing touches to their outfits for the day. Everyone was so friendly, I was made a cup of tea, offered a pastry and immediately knew that I’d be making friends with these people!

It would be strange not to mention that it rained persistently for most of the day, but it didn't matter one bit, Matt and Joe were calm and relaxed and had organised the day so well, that a bit of rain wasn't going to stop any of the fun. The ceremony at the awesome art-deco Hackney Town Hall was affectionate and thoughtful, with some beautiful readings. Then everyone made the dash a couple of miles across town to Clapton Country Club, a converted tram shed down a cobbled mews that uniquely managed to combine industrial, urban charm that's also refined. The space was made even more wow by Lizzie Thorne Flowers, who decorated the venue with stunning autumnal hanging foliage and lots of pretty stems in jars all along the banquet tables.

What came across most about Matt and Joe's day, was that they have the warmest family and friends, there was a closeness to everyone in the room, like they were all family and had known each other their whole lives. It was such a pleasure to be a part of that and I hope I've captured that warmth in these photos!
