GRACE AND RICHARD’S STOKE NEWINGTON WEDDING

It was a really warm Saturday in May and Clissold Park in Stoke Newington was brimming with people; there were children’s birthday parties, football matches, roller skaters… then I see Grace approaching along the pathway with her Dad and 3 bridesmaids, gently strolling into her wedding day with a big smile on her face.

Grace and Richard got married at Grade II listed Clissold House, set within the park. The ceremony was punctuated by 2 incredibly moving readings which were dedicated to lost family members. After an exchange of rings and a joyous kiss, everyone filed outside for the big confetti moment! I love this part of the day, it’s when all the formal bits have finished and the party can begin. We all headed over to a shady bit of the park and the champagne corks popped! Grace, Richard and I took a few moments away from the crowd to do some quiet portraits under the willow tree, before a speedy walk back to the party, a quick pack up of bottles and cups and off to the reception venue: The Londesborough Pub down the road.

At The Londesborough, the barbecue was fired up and the garden was full of happy people! The children had somehow got hold of some ‘joke handcuffs’ which seemed to provide hours of entertainment for them and their adult prisoners :) The barbecue food was followed by the speeches, which were hilarious and heartfelt in equal measure. I finished my photography at the point when the dance floor was full and the sun was setting on the drinkers outside the pub… it was a glorious day!

Thank you Grace, Richard and your lovely families for having me along for the ride. Below are some of my favourite moments, followed by the full gallery - enjoy! X
